Teffbread

Everyone knows no thanksgiving meal is complete without cornbread. We have re-invented this American classic using our natural, unground teffseeds instead of cornmeal. You get the same great texture and same great taste you come to expect from cornbread, but with a whole new bandwidth of nutrients.

Ingredients (for 1 teffbread, serves 4):

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup teff seeds
  • 1/4 cup cane sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Preparation:

Pre-heat your oven to 200°C (392 °F). Mix all the ingredients together. Fill the mixture into a greased baking form and let your teff bread bake for 20-25min. Allow time for your teff bread to cool down after taking it out of the oven. Without cooling off property the teff bread can fall apart quite easily.
