Since July 2017, africrops! has been cooperating with the Namibian organisation Komeho Development Agency and the Namibian Training Authority (NTA) to set up a vocational training centre including a training farm in agriculture. The aim is to train young people in vocational fields in which they can later earn their living. It is particularly important to involve already the vocational school students in the production process.

In the meantime, the vocational training process is already in full swing and is already showing results: the vocational training that is done on the training farm was recognized by the state, so that the certificate that the graduates receive will also have a high value for the further career. The bio-certification was successfully completed in February. All products produced on the training farm can therefore also be marketed as “BIO”. The first vegetables are already being produced. Initially for the catering of the vocational training centre itself, and to an increasing extent also for the local market and then finally for the export market. This year Bio Moringa from Namibia will also be distributed in Germany under ‘The Essence of Africa’.

We are glad that through the Namibian Producer Project we have the opportunity to present high quality bio-products on the international market, but at the same time support the development of the local market.
